Artist statement: This piece is built around a piece of block printed fabric which I bought in Kenya ten years ago. I used it as the center panel, the three center rows. I used a reverse appliqué technique to do the top and bottom two rows...that's over 150 giraffes! Needless to say, it took me well over a year to complete this quilt.
